Our “GUEST BLOG” series continues and we excitedly introduce you to UK based John Magee, Founder of Kindness Matters.
A little bit about John in his own words about his Kindness mission:
I have had my fill of human beings not thinking about the consequences of their actions. I wrote my book Kindness Matters to educate people to gain a deeper understanding that no act of kindness no matter how small is ever wasted. The 30 Day Challenge has already transformed the lives of over 100,000 people from all over the world, and I truly believe it will do the same for you.
We further share his positive story……
“Kindness Matters” by John Magee
Take the “Kindness Matters” 30 Day Challenge.
“When you are kind to others, it not just changes you, it changes the world.”
As you read those words what do they mean to you?
When I was growing up as a kid, my sister and I encountered the direct opposite of those words, we were born into a cycle of domestic violence, Dad wasn’t a bad guy, it is just that the drink did not agree with him and as a consequence, my Mother and father separated the ramifications from Mum and Dad divorcing were my Mum had a breakdown, my sister went into care and for the next 20 years I ended up in organised crime, drug dealing, and living each day in a not so very KIND environment.
I honestly believe that if life does not challenge you, it won’t change you. We all have our own stories and our fair share of personal pain. But here is the thing “There is nothing more certain than change and as one door closes, another door will always open” the door that opened for me was KINDNESS.
Kindness is the gift that keeps on giving.
In 2001, my friend’s sister who was 37 at the time and had two beautiful young daughters was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. Just the word Cancer and the word terminal rattles through your bones and this did the same to me. I gave a promise to my friend that I would place a fundraiser for his sister Michelle, her family, and raise awareness for Breast Cancer.
One act of kindness can change a life.
While putting together the fundraiser, I met a guy called David Dunn who was local celebrity and Premiership footballer. I asked David to support me with the fundraiser, and he happily offered to help as he had lost his aunty due to breast cancer the previous year. Then, I did not realise that this one act of kindness that David did to support me would set off a cascade of events in my life some ten years later. Something transpired this day and I began to realise that I LOVE helping people, I realised that for me, it was far better to give than receive. Sadly, Michelle died, and the world lost a true Kindness Ambassador.
Fast forward to 2012, I formed a global Kindness movement to accompany my book I wrote “Kindness Matters” my book encourages people to take the “Kindness Matters” 30-day Challenge and to be of service to our kindred individuals.
One person can change the world.
Question 1. Why do you believe Kindness Matters?
Question 2. If you could make a movement to support humankind, what would it be and WHY?
Let me finish by saying thank you for your kindness and simply suppose you carried on with your life by this quote, what kindness it would do for you, others and the world.
“A greeting, gesture or a giggle…. Leave other people feeling better than before they met you” -John Magee
