“The Real Power of Positive Energy” by Shani Jay
When I was younger, I used to believe that successful people were simply lucky and had better fortune than I did, I used to let the smallest negative comment completely ruin my mood for the rest of the day, and I continued to surround myself with negative people and thoughts that only fuelled my own internal negative patterns.
I quickly realized that what you think, you become. If you think good thoughts, and you believe in yourself and your goals – you’re one hundred percent more likely to succeed. Because believing is half the battle.
At the end of 2016, I quit my soul sucking 9-5 and made the bold decision to start my own business and become a full-time writer. The office I was working in meant I was surrounded by a tonne of negative, self-centred, gossipy people for nine hours every single day. I knew if I didn’t do something to remove myself from that toxicity, I’d go crazy!
It’s the same when it comes to the company I keep. I’m not afraid to cut someone out of my life if they’re not bringing anything but bad vibes into it. I’ve noticed that the more I spend time with inspiring, positive and happy people, the more that subconsciously has a positive impact on me and my own life. Of course, I have a lot fewer friends but I’m also much happier because the ones I have bring me true joy.
I’m inspired on a daily basis by words and mantras and the power they have to inspire and motivate me. My personal favourite positive quote of the day is – ‘The best is yet to come’. It reminds me that whatever has happened in the past, or even today does not matter, because our potential growth and success is infinite. There’s so much beauty and abundance waiting for us to simply reach out and grab hold of it with both hands. It keeps me going whenever I hit a rough patch or feel down about anything. I’m reminded that I have no idea of the amazing things that are yet to come my way.
Are you doing everything in your power to infuse your life with positive energy?
What more could you be doing?
